Ochre dazzle Milan with their mesmeric Seed Cloud lighting family. Rossana Orlandi, one of the design world’s most influential patrons and tastemakers, has invited Ochre to display their Seed Cloud Installation in her Milanese gallery Spazio Rossana Orlandi. Each year, her gallery presents a mix of the established and cutting-edge, all styled in her creative, unusual way. It's an unmissable show that draws in the design cognoscenti during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile furniture and design week. The Seed Cloud Installation is a piece of iconic lighting, an installation that balances beauty with perfect functionality. A mass of organic cast bronze buds, each housing a solid glass drop illuminated by L.E.D. It is a mesmeric piece of craft that is technically advanced, marrying both modern and ancient processes. The designers of Ochre are Joanna Bibby, Harriet Maxwell Macdonald and Solenne de la Fouchardière, all of whom share an aesthetic for the understated. Their work combines a unique contemporary design ethos with a deep understanding of traditional craftsmanship to create modern collectables and truly bespoke signature pieces. Today Ochre is acclaimed internationally with showrooms in London and New York, and has worked on many custom projects for private residences, boutique hotels and restaurants throughout the world. Ochre’s individuality is expressed through the use of complementary materials beautifully captured in the Seed Cloud. In order to create this finely crafted and highly valued piece, the designers spend time working alongside specialist craftsmen exploring traditional techniques and bringing ancient processes into the present to serve a contemporary sensibility. ochre.net
