Does anyone know what a mixologist is?  Well, all I know is that you need a pretty smart bespoke bar stool to experience a wow bespoke cocktail mixed by the new breed of bartender. 

The cocktail scene is growing and a beautifully crafted martini mixed to perfection demands a beautifully crafted bar stool to match.  

At Clerkenwell Design Week I spotted the Avery wooden bar stool by Pinch, a company that I admire for the purity and simplicity of its furniture. Yes, this bar stool was lovingly made and the proportions were great but it was hard-edged.  A bar stool needs have a discreet glamour and the level of comfort you would find in a hotel.

OCHRE prize a subtle glamour. Their new bar stools are handmade in the finest Italian saddle leather. The new Sable bar stool with its etiolated shape and low back is finished with hand sewn pinched seams and scalloped corner details reminiscent of a couture handbag.

Then there is the chic caribou bar stool with a distinctive S line silhouette and tactile, wrapped Italian saddle leather arms and a low-slung seat.
